One Chicago officer isn’t applying handicapped-parking laws correctly when ticketing able-bodied drivers who are shuttling patients to the hospital. CBS 2’s Pam Zekman reports.
Mayor Rahm Emanuel today announced that 41 disability placards have been confiscated and 47 citations issued during 20 coordinated stings since a large-scale effort to end disability placard abuse began on August 24, 2012.
It’s been more than two years since a 73-year-old Chicago woman lost her handicapped parking placard. But police say they found it over the weekend, in a car belonging to a healthy, 35-year-old man.
When you head out to the mall this weekend for holiday shopping, don’t be tempted to park in handicapped spots.
