There was more to this 4th of July than celebrating the country’s independence. For candidates looking ahead to the governor’s race next year, it also was a chance to get out and meet voters.
The Illinois Senate overwhelmingly OK’d prohibiting public disclosure of the names of people who hold firearm owner’s cards.
Earlier this month the General Assembly voted to abolish the death penalty. But Gov. Quinn has yet to sign the legislation.
If Governor Quinn signs the legislation to abolish the death penalty at least one state senator says he will try and get a law in place that allows for limited capital punishment.
