He was standing outside in the 8000 block of South Maryland Avenue about 1 a.m. when someone approached him and an altercation ensued, according to police. The man was shot in the side during the encounter.
About 7 p.m., the 26-year-old was shot in the leg in the 7900 block of South Maryland Avenue, police said.
Firefighters responded to the blaze about 12:33 a.m. inside a one-story bungalow in the 8300 block of South Maryland Avenue. The fire was struck out about a half hour later.
The shootings occurred at 8:56 a.m. with one victim shot in the 8200 block of South Maryland, and the second shot in the 8200 block of South Drexel.
