A Chicago veterinarian who said earlier this week that the puppy she had just adopted from a rescue organization in Minnesota was stolen from her car right in front of her is now admitting it was not true and she says she’s sorry, reports WBBM’s Mike Krauser.
A sick puppy was returned to a Joliet animal shelter on Wednesday, two days after someone stole the dog.
The 8-week-old puppy, a Shih Tzu-Poodle mix, was stolen from Hopeful Tails Animal Rescue, on the 200 block of Republic Street, just after noon Monday. The female puppy was being treated for a respiratory infection, and needs medication, or is going to get sicker.
A dog is still missing, one week after it ran away from its would-be rescuers. The rescue group is appealing to northwest suburbanites for help.
