Once MLB Trade Deadline Dust Settles, Your Fantasy Roster May Need Some Tweaks

It happens every year: A solid productive player on your fantasy baseball roster gets traded to a team that just plans on using him as a backup. If you’re lucky, one of your backups is the benefit of such a trade, too. However, every fantasy owner needs to make adjustments after July 31 to make sure their rosters are still competitive and productive. If not, it’s a slow crawl to the end of September and sixth place in your league.

Beware Players That Switch Leagues At The Trade Deadline

Every year it happens: Big-league trades send hitters and pitchers from the National League to the American League—and vice versa. This isn’t always a good thing, though, as pitchers have a hard time adjusting going from the NL to the AL, while hitters have a hard time adjusting going from the AL to the NL.

Which Stat Categories Do You Need The Most In Fantasy Baseball?

When trying to improve your fantasy roster, it’s important to gauge which statistical categories can help you the most. If you’re last in batting average, maybe it’s not worth it to acquire a .300 hitter. If you’re in the middle of the pack in steals, it might be worth it to find a speedster for your lineup.
