Gas Prices Rising As New Year Starts

It’s been no holiday for drivers trying to fill up at the pump. Gas prices continue to rise. As of Monday, the average price for a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline in Chicago was $3.51, up 9 cents from a week ago.

Report: Oil Speculation Is Jacking Up Gas Prices Dramatically

Some University of Massachusetts Amherst professors have authored a study for the Public Interest Research Group, which concludes that speculation in the oil futures market is having a big impact on prices at the pump.
