No guide to Chicago bra fittings would be complete without mentioning Intimacy. According to Intimacy founder Susan Nethero, 85 percent of women are wearing the wrong bra size. Nethero opened her Chicago location in 2005 on Chicago's Magnificent Mile – the stretch of retail stores, restaurants and hotels along Michigan Avenue in the heart of downtown. A year later Oprah Winfrey featured Nethero on her show. Intimacy is geared exclusively toward bra-fitting services, which includes teaching women how to eliminate back fat and instructions on extending the life of a bra. A free bra fit makeover can be booked by phone or online, and several well-known lingerie collections are available for sale at the shop. Intimacy is open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday.

Isabella offers five-minute bra-fitting services, no appointment needed. Customers have the option to visit the shop in person for a fitting, or get virtually sized online by uploading a photo of themselves in a light-colored top to the "resident Boobologist." The Web site also features a blog with bra fitting tips. A selection of bras and underwear, hosiery, robes and swimwear are available at the store, as well as a line of maternity and nursing bras. Shop hours are Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Saturday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; and Sunday, noon to 5 p.m.

Nordstrom has a team of Certified Prosthesis Fitters, who are specially trained to fit women for all types of intimate apparel after reconstructive surgery or mastectomy. The downtown Chicago Nordstrom location is open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
