THE DEFENSE

Q: Hi, Victoria. How long have you had Bonny?

A: For about two and a half years. I bought her toward the end of 2009.

Q: What made you choose Bonny?

A: This was my dream car. I always knew one day I would buy it, but I didn’t know when. So when I saw it at the auction, I knew I had to get it and I did!

Q: What made you go to a car auction versus going to a dealership?

A: I originally planned on going to a dealership, but my friend suggested I go to a car auction. I’m glad I did. Because not only do I own it outright, but I feel I received a better deal on the car than I would’ve gotten at the dealership.

Q: What did you think of the car auction experience?

A: It’s fast paced! I got there an hour before auction time so I could look around and try to pick out the cars I liked. I guess every auction is different, but this particular one didn’t let you get inside the cars. So all you could do was look underneath it. That was it! It’s a risk going to these auctions because you can’t tell if anything is wrong with the car up until you’ve signed all the paper work and taken it off the lot.

Q: Did you have any issues with Bonny after you bought her?

A: No. I just recently started having issues with it. I stopped driving it for a while so I could have it repaired, which meant I had to start riding the CTA. Those moments traveling back and forth on the bus and train made me realize how great it is to have a car.

Q: Now that you have Bonny back, what are you using her for?

A: Everything! I use it to run errands, take my kids back and forth from school, work. And going out!
