The heat of summer in Chicago is on the horizon, and this can mean only one thing. Hunting season is well under way and Chicago singles on the prowl. The city is full of great places to scope out other quality singles in Chicago, from bars to restaurants to clubs. Here are some good places to start.

Elephant & Castle is a neighborhood pub that serves up British classics as well as North American favorites for cuisine. It also boasts an extensive beer and Scotch whiskey list, so if you're a whiskey lover, it's likely you'll run into someone with similar tastes. This is a great place to eat, drink, be merry and mingle. Each location has a large bar area where one could sit and enjoy a cocktail or beer of your choice and enjoy a bit to eat. It is a full restaurant, so there is seating available for groups, however, singles may choose to sit in the bar area and mingle a little.

M Lounge is one of the new kids on the block. The bar is a fresh place for the young and mature crowds alike. They serve coffee, non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages to suite all palates for the night. The ambiance created by low lights, candles and the warm color scheme work together to create an environment that is simplistic, yet chic. Live jazz is featured on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, which could serve as the perfect backdrop to meet new friends that share a love of good jazz tunes.

Heterosexuals aren't the only ones looking to meet someone. Cocktails is a bar that serves a diverse clientele which includes the LGBT population with a leaning toward gay men. This fresh and fun bar has been famously dubbed the "Home of House Music on Halsted Street." The design is set for simply having fun, and the "Spank Go Go Boys" help achieve that on Saturdays at midnight and Sundays at 9 p.m. This is the perfect setting to let your hair down, kick your heels up and have fun. Who knows, maybe the guy down the bar could be the one.

Big Chicks is a bar located in Lakeview that also boasts a diverse clientele that also includes the LGBT community. This bar has great deals on food, so be sure to check the event site for events and deals. The bar will frequently host fun theme nights (February saw an 80s night in dedication to Whitney Houston,) so this is the perfect place to meet fun, adventurous people. Big Chicks' cheap drinks and welcoming atmosphere complete with quirky pop art leaves plenty of room for flirty fun.
