On Sept. 22, Aurora police received a tip that Arciga was looking to have her boyfriend, a 26-year-old Berwyn man, murdered, the release said. Investigators were able to tape two face-to-face meetings and several phone calls between Arciga and the undisclosed man.

During the meetings and calls, Arciga allegedly agreed to pay $2,000 to have the boyfriend shot to death, the release said. She supplied a cash down payment, along with photos of the boyfriend, his daily schedule, a description of his vehicle and other details.

Aurora detectives took her into custody about 7 p.m. without incident after a traffic stop by investigators who had been tailing her car after she met with the man in a grocery parking lot, the release said.

Bond was set at $750,000 on Tuesday in Aurora, and Arciga was to be transferred to the Kane County Correctional Center in St. Charles later Tuesday. A preliminary hearing is set for Oct. 13 in St. Charles.
