Robber Hits Bank In North Center
CHICAGO (CBS) - A bank was robbed in Thursday morning in the North Center neighborhood.
Police said the robber struck a Charter One Bank branch at 4037 N. Lincoln Ave., just north of the busy three-way intersection of Lincoln Avenue, Damen Avenue and Irving Park Road.
An FBI spokeswoman said the lone man armed with a gun went into the bank and ordered everyone on the ground. An employee gave him an undisclosed amount of cash.
The robber then fled the bank, the spokeswoman said. There were no injuries.
Reports from a witness that hostages are not accurate, the FBI said.
