Former Music Director and Choir Leader Brian Milnikel Sentenced To Jail For Child Porn

WHEATON, Ill. (AP) - A man who used to work as a music director and children's choir leader has pleaded guilty to aggravated possession of child pornography.

Brian Milnikel, 46, of Naperville, was sentenced to six months in jail Thursday after entering his plead in DuPage County court. He also must serve 30 months probation, pay a $1,000 fine and register as a child sex offender for the rest of his life.

The Chicago Tribune reports that Milnikel was the music director at a Roman Catholic parish in Glen Ellyn when he was arrested in January.

DuPage County prosecutors say police found pornographic photos of children younger than 13 on Milnikel's computer.

A defense attorney says there have never been any allegations of improper contact with children during Milnikel's 23-year career.
