The study finds 41 percent of drivers questioned admitted to falling asleep at the wheel at some point in their lives.
The AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety looked at 10 years of crash data and found that nearly 20 percent of deadly crashes had involved drowsy drivers.
Foundation president Peter Kissinger says "85 percent of motorists felt it was totally unacceptable to drive when you were so tired you had trouble keeping your eyes open, but a full one out of four drivers had admitted that they'd done so and that's just really a scary scenario."
Who are the most likely people to push the limit and continue to drive while drowsy? The survey says it's teenagers and men.
