Friends Of Deb Clark

A potluck benefit is being held in Evanston Friday night (Nov. 12), to keep a beloved crossing guard from becoming homeless. Debra Clark is a crossing guard at Washington Elementary School in Evanston, and says she has to be out of her apartment by Nov. 30.

The potluck fundraiser is being held from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Lake Street Church of Evanston, at 607 Lake St. in downtown Evanston. It will be in MacLeish Hall, which is accessed through the Chicago Avenue entrance. The Jeff Libman Trio will play free live music, and a children's craft table will be set up. You are asked to bring a dish to share.

To help Clark, you can also click the link for a Web site set up on her behalf, FriendsOfDebClark.com.
