Auroran Advances On 'American Idol'

CHICAGO (STMW) - Waubonsie Valley High School grad Ta-Tynisa Wilson has made the top 40 on Fox TV's "American Idol."

Despite flubbing the lyrics to the country song "I Hope You Dance," Wilson has advanced in the competition, which airs Wednesdays and Thursdays at 7 p.m.

Wilson, 20, is a past winner of the Aurora Idol competition held during Aurora's summertime Downtown Alive! celebration.

This was Wilson's fifth time auditioning for "American Idol," which is in its 10th season.

The top 40 contestants will compete in Las Vegas on next week's episodes.
