Chicago Rush Gets New Start With New Coach

CHICAGO (CBS) -- With the NFL's looming lockout, The Rush could be the only game in town. That might actually bode well for the Rush as the team tries to reestablish a presence after the arena football league folded two years ago.

Now they hope they're here to stay.

"It's just trying to get the name of the Chicago Rush back out there. The year off really hurt us. It really hurt the whole league. We got some real supportive fans out there. They're eventually going to come back," new Rush Head Coach Bob McMillen told CBS 2's Megan Mawicke.

Leading the way for the Rush is veteran quarterback Russ Michna. It's still early, but he likes what he sees in this year's team.

"I think we have a lot of talent running around. I say it every year: It amazes me how great the receivers are every year," Michna says. "I'm excited about what we got going."

It might only be his first year coaching but Bob McMillan knows the game as well as anyone. He's won three championships with three different teams and was named one of the league's 20 greatest players.

"He encourages us every day. He is one of those types of coaches that you want to go out there and work hard for him every day," Rush defensive tackle Simi Toeaina says.
