Bulls Clinch Best Record In NBA

CHICAGO (CBS) -- In defeating the New Jersey Nets Wednesday night, the Bulls have finished their season with the best record in the NBA.

Before the game Wednesday night, the Bulls were already the top seed in the Eastern Conference, but were tied with the San Antonio Spurs for the best record in the league. But the Spurs lost to the Phoenix Suns 103-106 Wednesday night, leaving the Bulls standing alone.

The distinction awards the Bulls home-court advantage throughout the playoffs.

In the game Wednesday night, Kyle Korver came up big down the stretch to finish with 19 points, Derrick Rose scored 15, leading the Bulls to close the regular season with their ninth straight win.

The Bulls led by as much as 13 in the second quarter and were up seven at the half, but found themselves trailing 68-58 after the Nets scored 15straight midway through the third. They responded by scoring 10 in a row to close the period and pulled this one out in the end, with Korver scoring seven in the final four minutes.
