Report: Adler To Raise Admission Fees By $2

CHICAGO (STMW) -- Adler Planetarium is planning to raise admission fees by $2 across the board.

The price to get in to the lakefront museum would go from $8 to $10 for most Chicago residents, from $6 to $8 for Chicagoans 65 and older, and from $5 to $7 for kids 3 to 11, sources told the Chicago Sun-Times Monday.

General admission for non-residents — now $10, $8 for seniors and $6 for kids — would also go up $2.

Adler representatives couldn't immediately be reached for comment Monday about why the fee increases are planned or when they would take effect.

Because the planetarium sits on Chicago Park District property, its plan to raise fees must be approved by the park district. The district's Program and Recreation Committee is scheduled to take up the request Wednesday.
