CHICAGO (CBS) — A Northwest Side couple is hoping their sad story of a kidnapped dog has a happy ending.
When Tim Darling went to pay for his fiancée’s engagement ring Saturday, he took their dog Bella along for the ride. She was in the car in the crowded lot at the Harlem and Irving Park Mall for less than ten minutes.
But in that time, someone stole the puppy.

“She’s not just dog for me, she’s a human for me. She’s my daughter. It’s really painful,” his fiancee, Anette Szumic, says.
