One Fatality Confirmed In Car Crash

KENDALL COUNTY, Ill. (STMW) -- One person was killed in a single-car crash Tuesday morning in a rural area of Kendall County near Oswego East High School.

Police said the driver was alone in the car when it crashed at 10 a.m. near Harvey and Wolf roads, the Kendall County sheriff's office said.

The motorist was taken to Rush-Copley Medical Center in Aurora, where they were pronounced dead.

Tuesday evening, the sheriff's office was not releasing any more information about how the crash occurred or who had died. Kendall County Deputy Craig French said the driver had been identified, but the name was not being released because police considered it an ongoing investigation.

The Kane County Coroner's office, which would handle the case because the body was taken to Aurora, could not be reached Tuesday evening to confirm the identity of the driver.

The intersection of Harvey and Wolf roads is a four-way stop in a mostly rural area near Oswego East High School.
