CHICAGO (CBS) — A body was found in a garbage can Monday morning on the city’s Near West Side.

The body was found in the alley behind 1445 W. Flournoy St., in the neighborhood between the campuses of the University of Illinois at Chicago and Rush University Medical Center.

The body is that of a male of an unknown age, and was found by a scavenger, police said.

The block behind which the body was found is composed mostly of upscale brick and graystone residential buildings.

Police said the case is under investigation, and had no further information as of 1:20 p.m.
