CHICAGO (STMW) — A teenage boy was shot and killed in the South Side Woodlawn neighborhood Monday evening.

A 17-year-old boy was shot in the head and chest in the 6000 block of South Prairie Avenue about 5:49 p.m., police News Affairs Officer Veejay Zala said.

Steven McGee, 17, of 6133 S. Michigan Ave. was taken to John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County where he was pronounced dead at 6:35 p.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office.

No further information was immediately available. Calumet Area detectives are investigating.
