Shooting Victim Dies After Being Dropped Off At Hospital

HARVEY, Ill. (CBS) -- Police in south suburban Harvey say a man died after he was shot and then dropped off by someone at a hospital emergency room early Sunday morning.

Someone dropped off Jamail Xavier Seay, 20, of Riverdale, at the Ingalls Memorial Hospital emergency room about 1:30 a.m. Sunday.

Authorities do not know where the man was shot, as the people who dropped him off didn't stay to file a police report.

"We do believe we'll get some information after looking at the surveillance video footage from inside and outside the hospital and talking to the security personnel and to any personnel who were in the department while he was dropped off," said Harvey spokeswoman Sandra Alvarado.

Police believe they will get some information from the Ingalls Hospital security tape - both inside and outside the hospital - and by talking to people on duty at the time, Alvarado said.

Alvarado says anyone who knows anything about the shooting - and the death of Seay - should call Harvey Police.
