Man Fatally Shoots Barber, Then Himself At SW Side Shop
CHICAGO (STMW) -- A man entered a barber shop on the Southwest Side Monday morning, fatally shot a female barber then turned the gun on himself, ending his own life.
The incident happened at 11:18 a.m., police News Affairs Officer Veejay Zala said. The 36-year-old man entered the barber shop in the 3100 block of West 59th Street, shot the female barber, then fatally shot himself, Zala said.
The reason why the man committed the murder-suicide was not known as of Monday evening.
A spokesman for the Cook County Medical Examiner's office said the office has been notified of two deaths from that shooting.
Wentworth Area detectives are investigating.
