Smith, Bears Not Backing Down From Eagles

(WBBM) The Eagles completed one of the most expensive free agencies in NFL history before the start of the 2011 season, but their high-profile makeup isn't scaring Lovie Smith as the Bears prepare to return from their bye week.

"We have scholarship players, too," Lovie Smith told Josh Liss on WBBM. "We're athletic and we can match up with some of the more athletic, mobile quarterbacks. Mike Vick is always a challenge when you're playing -- just not only him. He has a lot of other weapons to go around with him."

The Eagles are coming off a 34-7 trouncing of the Cowboys on Sunday night after a slow start to the season raised questions about their high-caliber offense.

"They have a lot of talent," Smith said. "They're playing their best ball right now. We've played them five times in the last eight years that I've been here. We know them. They know us. It should be a heck of a game."
