Man Robs Old Town Chase Bank Branch
CHICAGO (STMW) - Authorities are looking for man suspected of robbing an Old Town bank Tuesday afternoon and fleeing on foot toting stolen loot in a black plastic bag.
The robbery happened at 1:21 p.m. at the Chase Bank branch in the 1700 block of North Wells Street, police said.
Police said the suspect -- who didn't have a gun as far as authorities know -- walked into the bank and announced a robbery. An employee handed over an undetermined amount of money, which the suspect put in a black plastic bag before fleeing on foot, according to police.
The FBI described the robber as a 5-feet-8 to 5-feet-9 black man with black hair and brown eyes. He is believed to be in his 20s or 30s and was last seen wearing a tan hooded-sweatshirt.
Chicago Police said the suspect weighed between 160 and 170 pounds and "seemed to have a lot of scratches on his face."
A reward is being offered for information leading to his arrest. Chicago Police and FBI agents are investigating.
