CHICAGO (CBS) -- Mostly sunny, but seasonably chilly conditions will continue through the day, with a high of 35 degrees.

On Saturday, the high climbs to 39 degrees, and on for Christmas Day on Sunday, the high is 42, reports CBS 2 Meteorologist Megan Glaros.

And as for a white Christmas, you'll just have to do like the old song and dream of one this year. Conditions will be pleasant and sunny on Christmas Day, but there won't be a flake of snow in sight.

However, if you drop by CBS 2 before 10:30 p.m. tonight (Friday), you can experience some snow. We have a snow machine running outside our studios at 22 W. Washington St. that has been drawing crowds all day.

Rest of Friday:
Mostly sunny. Highs in the mid 30s. Light and variable winds late in the morning becoming southwest 10 to 15 mph in the afternoon.

Friday Night:
Partly cloudy in the evening then clearing. Lows in the mid 20s. Southwest winds 10 to 15 mph.

Saturday:
Mostly sunny. Highs in the upper 30s. Southwest winds 10 to 15 mph.

Saturday Night:
Partly cloudy. Lows in the upper 20s. Southwest winds 10 to 15 mph.

Christmas Day:
Partly cloudy. Highs in the lower 40s. West winds 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph at times.

Sunday Night:
Mostly clear. Lows in the mid 20s.
