17 Left Homeless By Andersonville Fire

CHICAGO (CBS) -- Seventeen people were left homeless early Wednesday, after a fast-moving fire destroyed a garage and damaged two apartment buildings in the Andersonville neighborhood.

Firefighters say the blaze broke out in the predawn hours Wednesday at 1445 W. Argyle St., just east of Clark Street, in the section of Andersonville that juts into the Uptown community.

The fire broke out in a garage, and quickly spread to the rear of two apartment buildings, causing damage to several units.

There were no injuries, but 17 people were displaced, fire officials said.
