Report: Hinrich Verbally Commits To Returning To Bulls

CHICAGO (CBS) -- Free-agent guard Kirk Hinrich reportedly has agreed to return to the Chicago Bulls, two years after he was traded away to the Washington Wizards.

The Chicago Tribune's K.C. Johnson reports Hinrich, who spent the past two seasons with the Wizards and the Atlanta Hawks, is expected to sign a two-year $6 million deal to rejoin the Bulls when free agent signings can officially start on July 11.

The Bulls drafted Hinrich with the 7th overall pick in 2003, and he spent his first seven seasons in Chicago.

A combo guard, Hinrich could start for the Bulls while Rose recovers from his knee injury, and then move to shooting guard and split time with Richard Hamilton when Rose returns.
