Man Linked To 3 Sexual Assaults On West Side

CHICAGO (CBS) -- A 20-year-old man stands charged a string of sexual assaults on the city's West Side.

Tyreese Richardson, of the 3200 block of West Fulton Boulevard, is charged with two counts of aggravated criminal sexual assault, and two counts of home invasion, in connection with three separate incidents.

The attacks happened between July 27 and Aug. 5 in the 2700 blocks of West Adams Street and West Jackson Boulevard.

In the attacks, police say, Richardson stormed into the homes of the victims with a knife in his hand, and sexually assaulted them.

Afterward, Richardson hopped out a back window or door, police said. In one assault, he allegedly took property from a victim.

Detectives were able to connect Richardson to the assaults through DNA evidence, and he was positively identified by the victims after being arrested on Monday.

Police are also investigating Richardson in connection with other crimes.

He is set to appear in bond court later Wednesday.
