City To Hold Job Fair To Fill Vacant Positions

CHICAGO (CBS) -- The City Of Chicago will hold a job fair on Friday to help fill hundreds of vacant city positions.

The fair will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Kennedy King City College in the facility located at 740 W. 63rd Street.

The job fair will be conducted in partnership with the Chicago Transit Authority, Chicago Public Schools, City Colleges of Chicago, the Chicago Park District, and Chicago Housing Authority.

There are currently hundreds of jobs available with the City of Chicago in the top 50 health care jobs category and its agencies.

"I am deeply committed to making sure every Chicagoan finds consistent and stable work," Mayor Rahm Emanuel said in a statement. "This job fair will give residents the opportunity to apply onsite for these good jobs with assistance from city officials. We will continue to conduct these job fairs as we work to get Chicagoans employed."

At the job fair, applicants will have the opportunity to apply online for City of Chicago jobs or learn how to use the online application system. Several workshops and presentations on resume writing, interviewing skills, and online application tutorials will be held.
