(CBS) It’s been a rough year for Illinois head coach Tim Beckman.

It started with him getting criticized for recruiting Penn State players, continued with him losing all eight Big Ten games and ended with him getting humiliated in Evanston Saturday.

And we’re not just talking about the 50-14 loss to the Wildcats.

Illinois’ coaching staff was guilty of three penalties in the game, including when Beckman got in the way of an official and was flagged for a sideline infraction.

The penalty wasn’t the worst part of it. Beckman was clobbered by the official and ended up on his rear end. Check out the video:
