CHICAGO (CBS) — An off-duty Cook County corrections officer was shot multiple times after he thought he was being followed while driving his car.

He got off the interstate and stopped near 98th Street and Halsted around 2 a.m. on TuesdayREAD MORE: View Live Radar
That was when he was approached by a suspect and shot five our six times in the jaw, shoulder and back.

No one is in custody, and Area South detectives are investigating.
