DNA Links Prison Inmate To 1989 Murder In Englewood

CHICAGO (STMW) -- DNA links a prison inmate to a 1989 murder in the South Side Englewood neighborhood, police said.

Michael A. Escort, 52, was charged with one count of first-degree murder after DNA linked him to a murder in the 5800 block of South Lowe that occurred on Oct. 3, 1989, police said.

Escort is currently an inmate at Stateville Correctional Center in Crest Hill, according to the state Dept. of Corrections website.

Bond was set Sunday for Escort at $750,000 and he is scheduled to appear in court on Dec. 10.
