Second Man Charged In April Murder In Chatham

CHICAGO (CBS) -- A West Side Lawndale man was charged for allegedly murdering a man in an April shooting in the South Side Chatham neighborhood.

Keith Joshawn Anthony Jr., 24, of the 3800 block of West Cermak Road, was charged with one count of first-degree murder, police said.

Anthony is accused of fatally shooting Jaleen Armstrong about 12:25 p.m. April 6 in the 8100 block of South Cottage Grove Avenue, authorities said. Two people approached Armstrong and shot him in the groin.

Armstrong, of the 8000 block of South Ingleside Avenue, was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn and was dead on arrival, according to the medical examiner's office.

A second man is already being held without bond in connection with the murder. Juan Robinson, 21, of the 8600 block of South Phillips Avenue, was charged with one count of first-degree murder in October.

Police initially said the shooting was gang-related.
