WSCR Launches 'Sporting The Spirit' Charity Sporting Goods Drive

(WSCR) As the holiday season approaches, 670 The Score will launch the fourth annual Sporting the Spirit charity sporting goods drive throughout Chicago and the surrounding suburbs.

670 The Score will be partnering with Elite Truck Rental and Mercy Hospital to collect donations of new and gently used sporting goods to benefit a local school, organization, or team in need.

Through Sunday, Dec. 16, The Score will be soliciting nominations from local schools, community centers, and youth based organizations in need.  Letters can be sent directly to the station, or submitted to scorepromotions@cbsradio.com.  One beneficiary will be chosen to receive the donated goods which can be dropped off at a number of locations.  Donation drop boxes will be available at Mercy Hospital in Chicago and at Real Urban Barbeque in Vernon Hills. The Sporting the Spirit Drive will conclude in January 2013, when The Score will accompany Elite Truck Rental to personally deliver the donations to the Chicagoland school, team, or organization in need.
