Cops: Carpentersville Mom Locked Daughter, 8, Out Of Home

CARPENTERSVILLE (STMW) -- A northwest suburban Carpentersville woman is facing criminal charges after she allegedly locked her 8-year-old daughter out of their home.

Candis A. Johnson, 26, of the 0-100 block of Oxford Road, was charged with misdemeanor counts of endangering the life of a child and contributing to the neglect of a child stemming from an incident Thursday.

According to police, Johnson locked her 8-year-old daughter outside of her apartment, "telling her to walk outside in the rain, in an apartment complex known for violent crimes and drug activity," at about 9 p.m. according to court records.

In court on Friday, her bail was set at $7,500, and she was given a Jan. 25 court date.
