Wheaton North H.S. Teacher Accused Of Having Sex With Student

WHEATON, Ill. (CBS) -- Bond was set at $600,000 on Wednesday for a Wheaton North High School teacher charged with sexually assaulting a former student.

Edwin Klemm, 43, faces 11 counts of criminal sexual assault.

WBBM Newsradio's Dave Berner reports Klemm appeared in court Wednesday through a video connection from the DuPage County Jail. He listened to the charges against him with his head down.

DuPage County prosecutors alleged Klemm had a sexual relationship with a student in 2011, starting when the girl was 16 years old.

Prosecutors said he had sex with the girl numerous times – including in a movie theater parking lot, at his home – at least one time when his daughter was in the house – and inside a classroom at the high school.

The girl is now 18 years old, and attending college.

Klemm, who is married and lives in St. Charles, has been a teacher for 13 years. He was due back in court on April 15.
