Judge Grants Pistorius Permission To Leave South Africa

(CBS) Charged with murder, a judge has granted Olympic and Paralympic track star Oscar Pistorius permission to leave South Africa.

"The applicant is entitled to use his passport to travel outside the Republic of South Africa," Judge Bert Bam said.

Pistorius, 26 and a double amputee, also no longer needs to report to his probation officer.

Pistorius is charged with murdering his girlfriend, 29-year-old model Reeva Steenkamp, on Valentine's Day. He claims the killing was a mistake and that he thought Steenkamp was an intruder.
