CHICAGO (STMW) — A man was fatally shot in the Auburn Gresham neighborhood Thursday afternoon on the South Side, police said.

The 33-year-old victim was shot in the neck about 2:40 p.m. in the 1400 block of West 80th Street, police News Affairs Officer Veejay Zala said, citing preliminary information.

He was dead on the scene, police said.

Area South detectives are investigating the possible drive-by shooting.
