CHICAGO (CBS) -- A South Shore woman has been charged with beating her elderly mother to death during a domestic dispute over the Mother's Day weekend.

Janette Glenn, 51, has been charged with first-degree murder in the death of 82-year-old Catherine Glenn, according to Cook County prosecutors. Janette Glenn was due in court for a bond hearing Tuesday afternoon.

She and her mother lived in the same apartment in the 7800 block of South Euclid Avenue. Another daughter, Cathy Glenn, found their mother's body in a closet early Sunday.

The Cook County Medical Examiner's office said an autopsy determined Catherine Glenn died from blunt force injuries.

She lived in the South Shore neighborhood with two of her daughters. She had seven children in all.

"I can say this is the worst Mother's Day ever," said Glenn's daughter, Cathy, who found the body on Sunday.

"She was the most beautiful lady inside and out. She was a wonderful Christian lady, she would help anyone in need," Cathy Glenn added. "Mom, I love you, I will always love you, and this is very hard, but I'm going to do everything you taught me and try my best to be strong."
