Police Seek Hyundai In Fatal Bridgeport Hit-And-Run

CHICAGO (STMW) -- Police on Tuesday said they are looking for a maroon Hyundai Sonta that fatally struck a woman in a Bridgeport hit-and-run last week on the South Side.

The car struck the woman -- identified by the Cook County Medical Examiner's office as 21-year-old Carissa Hinz -- about 11 p.m. June 14 in the 3200 block of South Morgan Street, police said.

Hinz, of the 3300 block of South Lowe Avenue, was dead on the scene, authorities said. An autopsy determined Hinz died from multiple injuries from a vehicle striking a pedestrian and the death was ruled an accident, according to the medical examiner's office.

On Tuesday, police said investigators are looking for a maroon Hyundai Sonta sedan last seen speeding south on Morgan Street. The driver was a Hispanic man in his 20s and the car had two other occupants.

The police Major Accident Investigation Unit is investigating.
