CHICAGO (CBS) -- Fire Department divers were called to search for an 18-year-old girl who was feared to have gone overboard from one of the city's tour boats, but the search was called off when authorities determined she'd left Navy Pier on a bus.

About 30 firefighters and other emergency personnel were involved in the search after the teen was reported missing.

She is the daughter of a maintenance worker for the Anita Dee charter boat company. The daughter is also an employee, and was reported missing after the maintenance crew noticed she was no longer on deck.

Fearing the girl might have fallen in the water, four divers entered the lake, but a check of surveillance cameras later determined she had left the pier on a bus without telling her mother.

The mother and daughter might have had a fight before the girl left Navy Pier. A Fire Department spokesman said they believe it was an honest mistake.
