Man Stabbed To Death In Humboldt Park

CHICAGO (STMW) -- A man was stabbed to death Early Wednesday in the Humboldt Park neighborhood.

Elvis Canfield, 51, was stabbed to death while fighting with a man he knew in the 3900 block of West Division Street on the West Side about 12:20 a.m., authorities said.

Canfield, of the 1100 block of North Pulaski Road, was taken to John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County, where he died at 1:04 a.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.

The identity of the stabber is known to police, but he was not in custody Wednesday morning.

Area North detectives are investigating.
