Man Dies After Thrown From Bull At Rodeo Near Lockport

LOCKPORT, Ill. (STMW) -- An 18-year-old man died Wednesday, three days after he was thrown off a bucking bull while participating in a rodeo near southwest suburban Lockport.

Jose A. Hernandez, was hurt Oct. 6 while participating in the rodeo in the 18000 block of South Briggs Street, according to the Will County Coroner's office.

Hernandez, 18, of Streamwood, was taken to Silver Cross Hospital in New Lenox where he died Wednesday at 6:48 p.m., the coroner's office said.

Will County Sheriff's police are investigating, but his death appears to be an accident, the coroner's office said.

The cause and manner of his death will be determined pending autopsy, toxicological and police reports.
