11-12-13 A Popular Day For Weddings, Births

CHICAGO (CBS) -- It is 11-12-13 on the calendar and that brings special memories to moms giving birth or couple's tying the knot.

CBS 2's Suzanne Le Mignot has the 4-1-1 on the big day.

After more than four years as boyfriend and girlfriend, Grace Magana and Elias Corral decided to make it official Tuesday. They are husband and wife, on 11-12-13.

"We chose the date, because of the sequential order, 11-12-13. That way I won't forget. Not so much him, but me," said Grace Magana.

"What better day to take the day off than a Tuesday. Your boss would know if you take it off on a Thursday or Friday, so Tuesday is perfect. So actually, my boss is here, so it's not a bad thing," said Elias Corral.

Diana Wong and Jerrod Kitt were among the many couples tying the knot at City Hall Tuesday. Wong has specific reasons for choosing this day to get married, along with the color of her dress.

"It's an auspicious date in Chinese culture," said Jerrod Kitt.

Wong wore a red dress because she says, "red is lucky in Chinese culture."

While those couples had their wedding date planned, Serra Kusculuoglu decided to come into the world on 11-12-13 at 1:30 a.m.

"I think she planned for it all along and came out right on time, on the right day," said Burcu Kusculuolgu, Serra's mother.

"I think she's going to be a lucky person and this is just the start of it. At the end of the day it's just a date."

At the same time, Serra's mother says it's also fun to have such a funny birthdate. Every time Serra fills out a form, it's going to be interesting.

More than 50 couples got married at City Hall on Tuesday. That is more than double the couples married on a typical weekday
