CHICAGO (CBS) — As the Mariano’s grocery store chain expands in Chicago, its parent company says it plans to hire 2,500 workers to staff its new stores.

Roundy’s will be hosting a job fair on Thursday at the Crown Plaza Chicago Metro hotel, 733 W. Madison, from 9 a.m.-6 p.m.

Mariano’s is acquiring 11 Dominick’s locations, which are closing at the end of the year.

Roundy’s will also be holding two other job fairs this week–at the DoubleTree Hotel, 9599 Skokie Blvd., in Skokie on Friday (9 a.m.-6 p.m.) and the Chicago Marriott, 1200 Burr Ridge Pkwy., in Burr Ridge (9 a.m.-2 p.m.) on Saturday.

Currently, Roundy’s is recruiting for five of the newly acquired stores–Northfield, Park Ridge, Western Springs and two in Chicago (Chicago Avenue and Sheridan Avenue)–along with its current locations.

Roundy’s estimates that there are approximately 250 job positions for each of the newly acquired stores.
