Yelp's 100 Best Places To Eat In The United States

CHICAGO (CBS) -- Foodies and foodie wanna be's, listen up: Yelp has come out with its Top 100 Places To Eat in the United States.

The list is not just those high-falutin', fancy-pants places like Chicago's highly-acclaimed, mind-blowing Alinea, 1723 N Halsted St. (which does make the list at No. 7).

"This restaurant ruined food for me," wrote a Yelp reviewer. "Since eating here every other restaurant, even Alinea's 5-star peers, seems about as bland as eating at Subway."

The list covers four-star restaurants to food stands, with a wide variety of food choices. Whether one agrees with the list, it is at least a selection of real restaurants for real people.

The other Chicago eatery to make the list is "encased meats emporium" Hot Dougs (27th).

"I'm not usually a fan of hot dogs, but hot darn these were good," wrote one Yelp reviewer. "Got 6 or 7 different dogs, starting with traditional Chicago style, ranging to rabbit foie gras, kangaroo, and more."

Chama Gaucha Brazilian Steakhouse in Downers Grove, 3008 Finley Road, came in at No. 37.

One Yelp reviewer said: "I will begin with saying I am VERY picky and notice every single thing. The attention to detail is unbelievable. Wine selection is top notch."

Yelp dug deep into its user review data to determine the favorites.

According to Yelp, its data fiends examined star ratings and number of reviews to reveal both the top-rated and most-popular spots.
