Chicago River Tours Canceled Because Of High Water

By John Dodge

CHICAGO (CBS) -- The Chicago River water level was so high after last night's storms that some boat operators had to cancel morning tours because the boats couldn't clear the bridges.

A photo posted on Reddit, shows one of the boats stopped at the Michigan Avenue bridge.

According to Ticketmaster's website, The Chicago's First Lady had to cancel its 10 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. cruises.

Wendella told CBS 2 that they had to also cancel two morning cruises.

A pair of tourists from New York City said they had to cancel plans to take an architecture tour, but boarded a water taxi instead, which wasn't affected by the water height.

The Chicago area had two to three inches of rain fall in about a six-hour period on Monday night.
