McDermott Bought Shots For Omaha Bar After Being Drafted
(CBS) Well, Doug McDermott sounds like a fun guy.
After being drafted 11th overall last Thursday and getting traded to the Bulls, McDermott placed a call and ordered a keg and shots for those who wanted them at the Blue Jay Bar & Grill in Omaha, according to the World-Herald. McDermott spent the past four seasons playing in Omaha at Creighton University, where he became the NCAA's fifth all-time leading scorer.
There were an estimated 100 people at the bar, according to the report.
It's a nice gesture from McDermott -- and one he can afford, seeing as the rookie-scale first-year salary for No. 11 picks is $1.9 million.
